Lazy Days

I haven't really exercised since winter rolled around. The most that I truly accomplish in a day are 200-800 crunches, which is all good and well... but it doesn't burn very many calories. For those lazy days, I've found some peace of mind.

Most important, is your sedentary BMR, which measures how many calories your body burns throughout the day, were you to sit on your bum all day. It uses your height and weight to determine this (age is less relevant, but why not?).

...and without further ado,

those lazy days
(I guessed on the average time limit in which one spends doing the following activities)
A game of cards or a board game (thirty minutes): burns 39 calories
Driving (thirty minutes): burns 52 calories
Hairstyling (five minutes): burns 11 calories
Painting (thirty minutes): burns 111 calories
Playing piano (sixty minutes): burns 138 calories
Playing guitar (sixty minutes): burns 158 calories
Putting groceries away (five minutes): burns 11 calories
Reading (thirty minutes): burns 26 calories
Shopping (thirty minutes): burns 59 calories
Showering (ten minutes): burns 35 calories
Sitting (sixty minutes): burns 52 calories
Sleeping (eight hours): burns 480 calories
Standing (sixty minutes): burns 59 calories
Studying (thirty minutes): burns 46 calories
Washing dishes (ten minutes): burns 18 calories
Writing or sketching (sixty minutes): burns 52 calories

These numbers are based from my weight, which sits in-between 108 and 111 pounds. If you weigh more, you will burn more calories participating in each of the activities above. If you weigh less, then you will burn less whilst doing them. There really won't be a tremendous change unless the difference between your weight and mine is extreme (a 100 pound difference, for instance).

I've edited a bit on this blog, because I'd like to give my sister the option to post her results on the S.G.D. alongside my own (really, I've only taken one entry down). Welcome to A Perfect Fall, Stevi. <3
